Rain

You taught me how to rain
When everything I had was deserted and lifeless
You taught me how to rain
You showed that I didn’t always have to thunder
Storms were not the only rains
I could draw out of me
Sometimes all I needed was to make light showers
To fill the rivers that joined us
To remember how you felt flowing through me
Sometimes all I needed was to drizzle
When we both thought we couldn’t breathe again
Drizzle would refresh us remind us we are all we need
And yes sometimes I needed to storm
I needed to remind you my worth
You needed to here my voice
And sometimes I needed to hold back my rain
Just stand by you, smile
Tell you everything is going to be alright
You taught me how to rain, not only for me but for others
